About Me
I am a lifelong learner and my passion as a nurse is looking after vulnerable populations; to be a voice and an advocate for those who can't make their needs known. Through my eportfolio, I want to share my career goals and hopefully inspire other nurses along the way to pursue their dreams.
I have been a registered nurse for 25 years, and through this time I have maintained the professional standards outlined by the nursing associations that have held my license. It's an honor and a privilege to be a registered nurse, and I have worked in many exciting areas. This career has provided me with numerous opportunities in both rural and urban settings. I have seen the nursing profession evolve in many areas during this time, including nursing research, training, education advancements, procedures and nursing techniques. It's a career where the learning never stops, and it's important to be self motivated and enjoy the possibilities that come along.
I currently work in the public and private sectors with people of all ages. One position is a management role, which was a key factor for me when I chose a master's degree. Through the completion of the Master of Health Studies Program, I will continue with higher level management positions in healthcare.
